I have been skating and playing ice hockey since I was five years old. The fastest team sport in the world has always been a positive part of my life.
As a journalist, I write about ice hockey for other media outlets. With Onetimer, I want to give something back in the form of an independent blog, because ice hockey has given me so much. In my personal blog, I wrote about my ice hockey flow.
The sport has made larger strides in Germany, it has come a long way. Marcel Noebels, former national player, made a point when the national team reached the finals of the 2023 World Cup: “Anyone who isn’t a hockey fan right now should be ashamed of themselves.”
It’s time to give more respect and visibility to all those who have been involved in German hockey for years, from coaches and youth trainers to national players, so that everyone can take part in the journey to the first gold medal.
